During the recent Joint Address to Congress, President Donald J. Trump outlined more details about his vision for the nation’s infrastructure, and in response, ACPA has expressed its support in a letter to the President.
ACPA President & CEO Jerry Voigt and Executive Vice President Leif Wathne penned the letter, which expresses support and describes enthusiastic reactions heard from members (during and since ConExpo-ConAgg). The letter also pledges to lead grassroots advocacy efforts in Congress when legislation reflecting the President’s vision is acted upon. Click here to view a copy of the letter to the President.
Last month, ACPA sent a congratulatory letter to U.S. Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao, and in that correspondence pledged to continue to work closely with the Federal Highway Administration and Federal Aviation Administration.
President Trump has been clear in his goal to fund improvements to the nation’s infrastructure since he began his campaign. The remarks before Congress have been well-received by the transportation-construction industry, road user organizations, and others.
“Crumbling infrastructure will be replaced with new roads, bridges, tunnels, airports and railways gleaming across our very, very beautiful land. Our terrible drug epidemic will slow down and, ultimately, stop. And our neglected inner cities will see a rebirth of hope, safety and opportunity. Above all else, we will keep our promises to the American people. ”
