For more than a decade, one of the popular features of the ACPA Annual Meeting every year  has been “Concrete Pavement University” (CPU).  Our unique education, training, and tech transfer program lineup for the upcoming 56th Annual Meeting will once again include a content-rich series of keynote speeches and presentations.  Here’s a closer look:

On Wednesday, December 4, our program will begin with a  CPU Opening Plenary Session, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Keynote speakers and topics include:

  • AASHTO’s Perspectives on the Future of the U.S. Highway Program – Jim Tyman, Executive Director; American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (invited)
  • Federal Highway Administration Outlook – Brian Fouch, PE, Director; Office of Preconstruction, Construction, and Pavements, Federal Highway Administration, and
  • The Value of Competition Between Industries: A Former DOT Secretary’s Perspective – Tom Smith, PE, Former Secretary, West Virginia Department of Transportation

On Thursday, December 5, the 11th annual CPU program will continue after the ACPA distinguished service awards & recognition breakfast.  Participants can select from eight interesting and informative concurrent CPU technical sessions. Breakout sessions 1, 3, 5 & 7 form a contractor/construction track. Breakouts 2, 4, 6 & 8 form a track of general interest to all.
