A Highway Materials Group meeting last week focused on reauthorization of the broad-based FAA bill, which includes airport construction and related work.

Guest speaker Annie Russo, Sr. VP of of Government and Political Affairs at ACI-North America (ACI-NA), provided a detailed overview of the three main airport revenue sources.

The talk underscored the importance of raising the Passenger Facility Charge (PFC) cap, preserving the Airport Improvement Program (AIP), and maintaining the tax-exempt status of bonds. These are key positions central to ACI’s “Beyond the Runway” initiative, which align with ACPA’s positions and priorities in the aviation market.

Leif Wathne participated in the meeting on behalf of ACPA, and along with Gary Mitchell, works closely with ACI-NA and other airport and construction alliances in support of airport development and related pavement construction issues that directly benefit ACPA members.
