Countdown to the ACPA Mid-Year Meeting

ACPA staff is reminding members and others to complete hotel and event registration soon. Registration counts have been increasing rapidly, and although discounted hotel rooms are still available at the special rate of $195/night, rooms are expected to sell out before the Monday, May 13, deadline.

If you are unable to secure a room because of a sold-out situation, please email your arrival/departure dates to Elke Allen (eallen@acpa.org). Elke will assist members who need help securing a room between now and the deadline date of May 13.

The setting for our meeting is the Hyatt Place in the Charleston, SC, historic district, which offers exceptional dining, nightlife, and of course, historic sites to see.  Highlights of the meeting are shown by date below:

Tuesday, June 11

  • ACPA’s “Change Management Seminar” is both timely and important because we are approaching a different business climate in the concrete pavement industry. This seminar will provide insights into embracing technology advancements, changes in project requirements, new approaches, new people, new models, and new measures.
  • Our “VISION2040 Action Plan Forum,” is the next step in our VISION2040 initiative and is aimed at evolving from a vision to a tangible plan that will allow our industry to seize opportunities and address challenges now and for the future.
  • Next up is a reception at the Pour Taproom. There will be plenty of drinks, appetizers, lively conversations and fun with friends and colleagues.

Wednesday, June 12

  • The line-up includes task force and committee meetings, where we talk about current and emerging opportunities and issues.  We also provide updates on current programs and plans.  These meetings also give you the opportunity to shape our 2020 plans and programs.
  • After our meetings, it’ll be time to relax at our evening reception, which will be held at the Old Exchange and Provost Dungeon. This is the perfect backdrop to network, relax, and enjoy refreshments with members.

Reminder: Reserve Hotel Rooms for ACPA’s Mid-Year Meeting

ACPA is encouraging members and affiliates to register for hotel rooms for our upcoming Mid-Year Meeting, which will be held at the Hyatt Place Charleston/Historic District in Charleston, SC, from June 11 through 12.*

ACPA encourages guests to book their hotel rooms as soon as possible using our meeting website.  Early registration locks in the special rate and helps avoid the inconvenience of booking at a different hotel if the Hyatt Place sells out.

ACPA staff members are currently working on agendas, which along with other details, will be added to the meeting website soon.

The ACPA Mid-Year Meeting has become increasingly popular and well attended in the past few years. Since 2017, ACPA Mid-Year Meetings have been moved to different venues (most recently Pittsburgh and Denver).  This new approach has been very popular and has offered plenty of area attractions and activities for meeting attendees.

* The event also includes the invitation-only ACPA Board of Directors meeting, which is scheduled for June 13.

Plan Now for Our Mid-Year Meeting

Agendas, event registration details and other information will be added soon and will be announced in ACPA TODAY and by blast email.

This year’s meeting will include committee and task force meetings, as well as tech transfer opportunities, networking, and social activities.  In addition to being a good forum for members to discuss timely issues and share in peer exchanges, the Mid-Year Meeting  allows attendees to learn about and participate in current ACPA programs and activities.  The meeting also represents one of the first steps in our annual planning process for the following year.
