ACPA in the News

ACPA had the opporunity to contribute a guest editorial (on long-life pavements), as well as a state-of-the industry article for CONTRACTOR’S HOTLINE magazine recently.  To view both online, please visit:  http://viewer.zmags.com/publication/78af5966#/78af5966/5.   Please note:   To view the article, you may have to select the option of activating or downloading Adobe Flash, if prompted.

In related news, ACPA also contributed commentary for an article on concrete pavement overlays, which appeared in the BETTER ROADS section of the December issue of EQUIPMENT WORLD magazine.   The article, “COVERING IT: The rise of the concrete overlay gives roadbuilders new options, opportunities,” provides an overview of current overlay technology and examples of its growth throughout the United States.

ACPA is also working with CONSTRUCTION FOCUS on an editorial collaboration.  For additional information about these and other ACPA media opportunities, please contact Bill Davenport (bdavenport@acpa.org or 847.423.8703).

ACPA’s Wikipave Earns Top Rollouts Award

ACPA’s Wikipave™ app has been recognized with a “Top Rollouts” award from EQUIPMENT WORLD magazine.  TopRolloutsAward-2015-lensflare

The editors of the magazine recognized Wikipave and ACPA for “the risk and reward of introducing new products to highway professionals.”   ACPA was one of 17 companies whose road and bridge-related product or service offerings were recognized in 2015.

The publisher notes the awards are presented based on several factors, including the product or service’s “ability to fill a market need” as well as for “technological advances; innovations; and general industry significance.”

Senior Editor Chris Hill said that for 2015, “we added a web app and software application category,” adding that ACPA’s press conference to announce the app was one of his first assignments with the magazine.  “We thought Wikipave was very worthy of the recognition,” he added.

In related news, ACPA has continued building the Wikipave app, adding a significant amount of content since the app was first debuted at World of Concrete in February 2015.   Since then, more than 1,000 pages of content have been added, bringing the current total to more than 1,200 pages.

ACPA’s Eric Ferrebee has been leading the effort to add both technical and institutional information to Wikipave.
