ACPA Provides Tech Training to Florida Engineers

ACPA this week presented two separate Concrete Pavement Preservation workshops in Florida. The one-day workshops were held in Davie and Orlando on November 4 and 5, respectively.

Working with the Florida Chapter-ACPA, Eric Ferrebee, ACPA Technical Service Director, and Mark Snyder, President of Pavement Engineering and Research Consultants, LLC, presented information on: proper timing of concrete pavement preservation; pavement evaluation; and full- and partial-depth repair.

They also discussed dowel bar retrofit and cross-stitching; joint and crack sealing; diamond grinding and grooving; concrete overlays; and how to choose appropriate preservation strategies.

NPCA Offers Jointed Precast Tech Manual

The National Precast Concrete Association (NPCA) has posted its Manual for Jointed Precast Concrete Pavement (3rd ed.).

The manual includes dozens of technical illustrations, charts and photographs and is available as a complete PDF or as chapter-by-chapter PDFs, all on NPCA’s website.

Published by NPCA in conjunction with the NPCA Precast Concrete Paving Slabs Product Committee, the manual was written by Peter Smith, P.E. The Fort Miller Group*, and Mark B. Snyder, Ph.D., P.E., Pavement Engineering and Research Consultants, LLC*.
