ACPA extends hearty congratulations to the agencies and contractors recently recognized by the Western Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials for being named recipients of the organization’s America’s Transportation Awards. By press time, ACPA had learned two contractor members were involved in two of the projects described below:
- Colorado Department of Transportation— The westbound I-70 twin tunnel widening project was budgeted for $55 million, but completed $7 million under budget. Villalobos Concrete Co., an ACPA contractor, was involved in the tunnel widening project.
- North Dakota Department of Transportation—The $130 million Watford City Bypass project helped relieve traffic congestion and address safety issues in the area. ACPA member ACME Concrete Paving, Inc. was involved with the project. (PCI Roads, a Minnesota contractor, also was involved with the project.)
