You Still Have Time to Register for the Next ACPA-PCA Webinar

There’s still time to register for the next PCA-ACPA paving webinar, which is scheduled for this Friday (August 14) at Noon (Central)/ 1 p.m. (Eastern)

The program will include, “Lifecycle Cost Analysis/Asset Management with the Arkansas DOT,” which explores how keeping pace with the pulse of the DOT is leading to new opportunities. The topic will be presented by Alan Meadors, Oklahoma/Arkansas Chapter.

The webinar also will include, “Using Cement Slurry Directly from a Ready Mix Truck.” The presentation, by Scott Hall, of Sagamore Ready Mix, will describe a dust-free process for recycling failed asphalt pavement into a new stronger cement treated base. Here’s a preview of other topics in the upcoming webinar series:

  • September 11—The webinar series continues with “Resiliency and Resilient Pavement Perspectives,” which explains how programs are meeting the demands in the southeastern and mid-Atlantic regions of the US. Participants will hear how the pavement industry (via ACPA) is approaching this opportunity. Presenters include: Amy Wedel (Florida Chapter), Ray Seipp (Mid-Atlantic Chapter), and Jim Mack (CEMEX and past-Chairman of ACPA).
  • October 9—This webinar will cover, “Defining and Updating Specifications with the DOT.” The program will explore the working relationship with Caltrans and the formula for success. It’s part specifications, part relationships, and part tenacity. The topic will be presented by Charles Stuart, Southwest Concrete Pavement Association.

Don’t Miss the Final Summer ACPA/CP Tech Center Webinars

There’s still time to register for our upcoming webinars in the ACPA-CP Tech Center summer webinar series.

So far, close to 8,000 people have participated in our webinar program or viewed them online after the live event. Don’t miss the final two programs in our summer series!

Here’s a look at the one-hour webinars scheduled for August 18th and September 22.

Both programs begin at 1 p.m. (EDT) / Noon (CDT):

  • August 18—Concrete Pavement Joint Design, Layout and Construction. Two industry experts, both with former DOT experience, share their insights, philosophies, and some important do’s and don’ts in the art and science of joint design for concrete pavements. They will specifically focus on the more difficult jointing challenges for ramps, intersections, and roundabouts. They also will offer perspectives on proper training, support, and assistance in their market areas. Presenters include Kevin McMullen, Wisconsin Concrete Pavement Association, and Bill Cuerdon, New York State Chapter.
  • September 22—The topic for this webinar will be Resiliency/Resilient Pavement Systems.  This webinar will explore how resilience relates to pavements. The webinar will also describe how owners and contractors recover from disasters and the important role road design plays in recovery. The webinar will cover the need for resilient pavements; defining resilience, and improving pavement resilience. Our presenters are Jim Mack, Director – Infrastructure Market Development, CEMEX (and Past-Chairman, ACPA), and Dr. Tom Van Dam, Principal, NCE.

Register Now for Upcoming ACPA and CP Tech Center Webinars

Registration numbers continue to rise for the ACPA-CP Tech Center webinars.  The current count is  more than about 6,000 people representing agencies, engineering firms, contractors and others in the industry. Even more have viewed the webinars after they’ve being posted online, raising the totals to more than 8,000.

The webinars take place on the second Friday of each month at 11 am (EDT) / 10 am (CDT) and feature one or two presentations. Here’s a look at the next three webinars in the series:
