ACPA last weekend issued a letter to House and Senate Leaders Nancy Pelosi, Kevin McCarthy, Mitch McConnell and Chuck Schumer, urging them to move quickly to lead both Chambers to:

  • Grant the immediate use of $50 billion in flexible federal funding to offset the significant revenues shortfalls facing state departments of transportation,
  • Suspend any state/local match requirement on federal aid projects (i.e. 100% federal share) for a two-year period to allow the federal investment to be put to work without delay, and
  • When the crisis situation has stabilized, to take up a multi-year highway reauthorization bill with significant investment increases.
