ACPA Participates in Concrete Pavement Seminar
Eric Ferrebee was one of a half dozen presenters for the Concrete Council of St Louis’ Concrete Pavement Seminar last week. In all, about 100 professionals participated in the web-based seminar. Presentations were pre-recorded, but presenters were present during the day-long seminar.
Eric presented on PavementDesigner.org, providing background and stepping through the pavement thickness design program, including parking lot, streets & roads, and intermodal design portions of the program.
The post-seminar feedback was positive, he reported, and said the feedback indicates interest in the tool, which some participants said they are already using the robust-featured, web-based program.
Jesse Jonas of the Missouri/Kansas Chapter also participated in the seminar, serving as both a moderator and a presenter. He co-presented with Chris Krueger, City of Kirkwood (MO) Engineer. The presentation, “Increasing Safety and ADA Compliance with Concrete Overlays,” provided a unique perspective on how concrete overlays can plan an important role in safety and ADA compliance in municipal planning and road construction.
