More than 670 members of the transportation community in North Dakota gathered for the first-ever North Dakota Transportation Conference, held yesterday and today. This event was a collaboration of the North Dakota Department of Transportation, the Upper Great Plains Transportation Institute, ND Local Technical Assistance Program (NDLTAP), and several industry trade associations, including the North Dakota Concrete Council – ACPA’s Chapter in North Dakota. Art Thompson, North Dakota Concrete Council’s Executive Director, introduced North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum for his closing remarks Tuesday evening.

The conference theme was One Team, One Network, One Goal. The two-day event featured three tracks of presentations and an exhibit hall. Thompson was the team leader for the concrete segments of the conference and served as opening day emcee. Larry Scofield, ACPA/IGGA, gave a presentation on pavement smoothness and grinding, and Dan King, CP Tech Center, presented on Performance Engineered Mixes, along with other local and nationally renowned concrete experts.

Based on the attendance and feedback, the date for next year’s event has already been reserved!
