ACPA President & CEO Laura O’Neill Kaumo attended a meeting arranged by the ACPA Pennsylvania Chapter (ACPA/PA) with the newly installed Pennsylvania Secretary of Transportation Mike Carroll. Led by ACPA/PA Chairman Dave Sciullo (Golden Triangle Construction) and ACPA/PA President John Becker, topics of discussion included transportation funding and an unfiltered but refreshing assessment of what needs to be done to restore the health of the Pennsylvania concrete pavement industry. The Secretary, who was most recently Chair of the Pennsylvania House Transportation Committee, has worked for many years in advocating for transportation funding. The meeting was well attended and included remarks from ACPA/PA Vice-Chair Bud Bauer (Baseline Contracting), Secretary-Treasurer Steve Somerville (Heidelberg Materials), Directors Dan Lucas (Tye Bar), Tom Meehan (James J. Anderson Construction), Bill Norris (Argos Cement), Mark Ondecko (Gulisek Construction), Jamie Stilley (Amerikohl), and former ACPA/National Chairman Chuck Niederriter (Golden Triangle Construction). The group is optimistic that Pennsylvania will recognize the merits of having competition in the paving market.
