ACPA Foundation Celebrates Successful Relaunch in 2024

The ACPA Foundation celebrated a successful relaunch at the 2024 ACPA Annual Meeting with Sarah Bazey, American Highway, selected to serve as the Chair of the Foundation’s Board of Directors. Rounding out the newly appointed Board of Directors:

  • Julia Garbini, Concrete Advancement Foundation
  • Jason Hogue, Flores Automation and Machine Control
  • Chuck Niederriter, Golden Triangle Construction Co.
  • Laura O’Neill Kaumo, American Concrete Pavement Association
  • Ernie Peterson, Ash Grove Cement Company
  • Don Weaver, Weaver Bailey Contractors
  • Corey Zollinger, Cemex

The Foundation’s Board will have its first meeting January 28, 2025, with an agenda focused on developing a timeline and agenda for the remaining year, a plan to solicit research funding requests, and future fundraising campaigns as well as expanding the reach and impact of the Emerging Leaders Group (ELG).

Additionally, the Foundation successfully concluded the “50 Who Care” campaign. A list of Founding Members for the Foundation will be announced soon! Through that campaign and additional donations, the Foundation raised an impressive $150,000 in less than 60 days. Thank you to everyone who donated and supported the Foundation’s initial efforts.

Gina Ahlstrom Transitioning to New Role at FHWA

After nearly 20 years at the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) as part of the Pavement Materials Team, Gina Ahlstrom has announced she will transition to the FHWA’s International Programs Office. As part of the International Programs Office, Ahlstrom hopes to grow FHWA’s presence as leaders in the international space.

Ahlstrom begins her new role January 13, 2025. An acting Team Leader for the Pavement Materials Team is expected to be named at the same time.
