ACPA Announces Leadership Training Workshop for Emerging Leaders

The Emerging Leaders Group will host its first-ever Spring Leadership Training, March 4-5, 2025, in Nashville, TN.

This professionally facilitated training opportunity, designed for young professionals and emerging leaders, will cover a variety of topics including results-oriented communication, mental health and wellbeing, emerging industry technologies, and more. ACPA Featured in January Edition of Roads & Bridges Magazine

ACPA is thrilled to have four articles featured in the January edition of Roads & Bridges Magazine.

“Constructing Concrete Roundabouts,” written by Eric Ferrebee, ACPA’s Senior Director of Technical Services, explains how concrete pavements provide a durable, long-life solution that requires minimal maintenance for roundabouts.

Eric also provided the article “Mastering Concrete Jointing,” which detailed how proper jointing design, followed by proper joint construction and activation, is crucial to achieve a long-life pavement.

Several ACPA members, including Milestone Contractors LP, Heidelberg Materials, Wavelogix, Inc., and Cemex, contributed to the article “Revolutionizing Concrete Paving,” authored by AOE’s Kristin Dispenza and focused on emerging technologies in the industry.

And last, but certainly not least, Laura O’Neill Kaumo, ACPA’s President & CEO, provided the lead editorial for the January edition, “The Role of Low-Carbon Concrete.” This featured article explains that despite the federal election resulting in shifting priorities, “sustainability and reduced carbon discussions are part of a broader national and international conversation, and as such, are likely to live on in various initiatives and programs.”

Roads & Bridges Magazine also featured live interviews with Laura O’Neil Kaumo; Eric Ferrebee; and IGGA’s Director of Technical Services, Nick Davis, at World of Concrete.

ACPA appreciates the opportunity to continue the conversation on topics like sustainability and competition that are critical to the concrete pavement industry and ACPA’s members.

ACPA Members at World of Concrete

Over 30 ACPA members exhibited at the 2025 World of Concrete Show. ACPA President & CEO, Laura O’Neill Kaumo enjoyed walking the show floor with ACPA Board of Directors Chairman, Don Weaver to visit many of you and hear how things are going in the industry.

While we know we didn’t get to see everyone, we hope World of Concrete was a successful event for all our valued members.

ACPA Foundation Sets Strategic Vision for the Year

The ACPA Foundation Board of Directors recently held its first meeting of the year to set a strategic direction, including developing a plan to accept research and educational program proposals. To support this initiative, they are launching a new website that will streamline applications, highlight our generous donors, and promote the foundation’s mission.

Speaking of its mission, the ACPA Foundation has officially adopted a new guiding statement:

“We honor the legacy of past achievements while cultivating a strong foundation for the industry’s future. The ACPA Foundation exists to ensure the longevity, innovation, and sustainability of the concrete pavement industry by mentoring emerging leaders, advancing research, fostering education, and building strategic partnerships.”
