ACPA Releasing Q2 Technical Service Briefing

ACPA is releasing its Q2 technical services briefing, designed to keep members informed on the critical work undertaken on behalf of the industry. ACPA’s engineering staff delivers consultation, specification interpretation, education, and other technical services to ACPA members, State and Federal Agencies, and Chapter/State Partners. These services translate to millions of dollars annually in industry savings or profit/revenue potential.

While some of ACPA’s work is difficult to monetarily quantify, our work with contractors, airport sponsors, design engineers, and agencies related to airport markets is estimated to have produced more than $4.5 million in savings this quarter alone.

Save the Date: ACPA Will Host Best Practices in Airfield Pavement Design and Construction Workshop

ACPA will offer its annual three-day national workshop on best practices in the design, construction, and rehabilitation of concrete pavements used for airport applications. The workshop program

will feature technical presentations by subject matter experts with practical experience in the topic areas. Leading the discussions will be experts from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineer’s Transportation System Center, the FAA Headquarters Office of Airport Safety and Standards, Air Force Civil Engineering Center, ACPA, and companies with direct involvement in the design and construction of FAA and Tri-Services airfield pavement projects. The workshop is intended for owners’ representatives, design engineers, contractor personnel, and others with an interest in concrete pavement design, construction, and rehabilitation for airport applications. The workshop will be held November 5-7, 2025, in Orlando FL. Program and registration details as well as venue information will be announced soon. ACPA Shares Research Supporting Goals of the FAA’s Extended Airport Pavement Life Program

ACPA is pleased to share research supporting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) efforts to double the life expectancy of runways at large hub airports. The study suggests that through the use of concrete pavement, a lifespan of 40 years for concrete runways is attainable.
