ACPA and ISCP to Host Joint Durability and Repair Webinar
In the continuing series of webinars presented by ISCP and ACPA, the next program in the line-up will cover joint durability and repair for concrete pavements. Scheduled for Thursday, June 27, the webinar will be presented from noon to 1:30 p.m. (Central) / 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. (Eastern).
This two-part webinar will include two presentations: “Joint Deterioration Causes and Prevention,” by Dr. Peter Taylor, CP Tech Center, Iowa State University and “Techniques, Materials and Resources for Repair and Restoration of Joints,” by Tom Burnham, P.E., Minnesota DOT. Both Peter and Tom are members of the ISCP Board of Directors.
Peter’s presentation will review the causes behind premature joint deterioration, including freezing and thawing, and oxychloride formation. He will provide guidance on what can be done to reduce the risk of its occurrence, and how mixtures can be evaluated before construction starts. Tom’s presentation will describe proven techniques, materials and resources related to concrete pavement restoration, as well as highlight case histories and ongoing research being conducted to improve processes and address new challenges.
ACPA will award a certificate of completion that may be used for company credit and/or 1.5 professional development hours (PDHs). For registration information, including pricing, group rates, and discounts, please click here to visit our registration page.
