• Airport Workshop Held in Denver

ACPA Chief Engineer Gary Mitchell held the yearly Excellence in Airfield Paving Workshop this month in Denver, CO. The workshop saw record attendance from across the industry as well as a slate of expert speakers from federal agencies, partner organizations, members and more. Attendees heard about updates to specifications, best practices and innovative strategies to incorporate with airfield paving. In addition, there was a networking reception for attendees. The workshop finished with a hands-on tour of a runway at Denver International Airport.

  • Ferrebee Presents at New Zealand Industry Conference

This week, ACPA Senior Director of Technical Services Eric Ferrebee is presenting at the Future Roads Conference in Hamilton, New Zealand. His presentation focuses on the United States’s perspective on sustainable concrete pavements including long-term performance, the economic impacts, and cost-benefits. This conference is the national conference for the New Zealand transportation industry and provides a forum for nationwide strategy, discussion and execution.

  • Martin Attends ACI Convention and the MIT CSHub Fall Advisory Meeting

Tim Martin, an engineering services consultant to ACPA, attended the annual American Concrete Institute (ACI) convention in Boston last week.  In addition to representing our members’ interests at various meetings and subcommittee meetings, Tim presented on Concrete Pavement Sustainability – Achieving Societal and Economic Goals on the Path to Carbon Neutrality in a session alongside Kurt Smith, Tom Van Dam and Jim Mack.  He also presented at the ACI 327 RCC session on RCC Pavement Thickness Design with PavementDesigner.org.  Additionally, Martin joined several Chapter State Executives, and industry representatives at the MIT CSHub Fall Advisory Meeting where MIT presented numerous research endeavors as well as updates on their upcoming initiatives.
