Join us for the Last Tech Tuesday Webinar of 2024

The next Tech Tuesday webinar will be Tuesday, December 17 at noon Central.

The webinar, “Fresh Look at Concrete Pavement for Local Agencies,” will highlight concrete pavement value points, along with the basic technical information, to support the use of the technology, especially for practitioners who have not considered their use in the past. The presentation will introduce a new document being developed on the topic and provide information necessary for individuals to implement concrete pavements into their network.

Presenters include Jerod Gross, PE, LEED AP, Civil Engineer, Snyder & Associates and Gerald F. Voigt, PE, President, Square One Pavement Consulting LLC.

FHWA Publishes Thresholds for Low Carbon Transportation Materials Grants Program

Recipients of Low Carbon Transportation Materials grant funding are required to identify the global warming potential (GWP) for qualifying materials or products. Last week, FHWA published resources that can be used to qualify materials and establish thresholds for the program. The thresholds are based on data provided by stakeholders from the concrete, glass, asphalt, and steel industries.

ACPA Participates in FHWA’s Sustainable Pavements Technical Working Group

Last month, ACPA participated in the FHWA’s Sustainable Pavements Technical Working Group held in Nashville, TN.

Industry stakeholders participated in discussions related to topic areas needed for the successful use of Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs). Sessions focused on the frequency of data updates/changes to published EPDs, EPD unique identifiers, and verification of EPDs.
