Three New NCHRP Projects Keep Spotlight on Sustainability
The National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP) has approved three new research projects for 2023 focusing on sustainability and resiliency. Impact of Flooding and Inundation on the Resiliency of Pavements is funded at $650 thousand, Variability in Pavement Materials and Construction is funded at $500 thousand. and Quality Assurance and Sustainability is funded at $350 thousand. Sustainability questions and considerations continue to be at the forefront of pavement conversations. As such, ACPA released a response to the FHWA Climate Challenge here, and is producing a white paper on sustainability titled Concrete Pavement’s Role in a Sustainable, Resilient Future, scheduled for release in September.
