There’s still time to register  for an informative webinar covering Alkali-Silica-Reaction (ASR) in concrete pavements.

Presented by the International Society for Concrete Pavements (ISCP) and ACPA, the webinar, “ASR Potential for Concrete Pavement Damage,” will be held Thursday, April 25 , from Noon to 1:30 CDT.

The webinar will be presented by Rolf Breitenbücher, Professor at Ruhr-University Bochum (Germany) and an ISCP Director.

Contractors, consultants, engineers and others with an interest in concrete pavement quality will benefit from this course, which provides an overview of the reaction mechanisms, suitable prevention measures, and techniques for evaluating ASR-afflicted pavements in situ. The webinar will address different ways to prevent ASR, including the limitation of the alkali content in the binder or a special selection of aggregates based on their ASR-sensitivity. Also included will be appropriate repair measures such as hydrophobing or top-layer replacement.

ACPA will award a certificate of completion that may be used for company credit and/or 1.5 professional development hours (PDHs).  ACPA members can register online and receive the discounted rate of $30 for individuals or $75 for groups of six or fewer.

There is no cost to government employees, but verification and registration are required.  ISCP members are encouraged to log-in and obtain information through the ISCP website.  Some restrictions apply.  For more information and to register, please follow this link.
