The FHWA’s Mobile Concrete Trailer (MCT) is offering four, 1-page documents that cover subjects related to concrete pavement mixtures and operations, based primarily on experiences and observations from the MCT.  They include: 

• Advantages of reduced cement factors;
• Advantages of optimized aggregate gradations;
• Differences between cylinder and core strengths; and
• Non-destructive pavement thickness measurement. 

The FHWA also plans to release two new 1-page documents later this spring – one on concrete pavement tining, and another on resistivity testing (in the context of AASHTO’s PP-84 Standard Practice for Developing Performance Engineered Concrete Pavement Mixtures).  As these and other documents are developed, they will be posted on FHWA’s MCT resources page.
