Leif Wathne participated in the 18th Annual Maryland Concrete Conference in Hunt Valley, Md.   He presented on ACPA’s VISION 2040 initiative, as well as the ASCE Grand Challenge.  The conference also included remarks by Mike Praul, Construction and Materials Engineer, Engineering Team Leader, FHWA; Gregory Slater, Administrator – ‎Maryland State Highway Administration; and other professionals from the public and private sectors.

Presented by the Maryland Ready Mixed Concrete Association, ACPA Mid-Atlantic Chapter, the FHWA, and the Maryland State Highway Authority, this annual conference was attended by an estimated 280 planners, inspectors, engineers, contractors, educators, and others involved with concrete pavements.

The conference is designed to communicate the benefits of quality concrete for pavements and structures to those responsible for the design, construction, and maintenance of transportation facilities in Maryland, according to the organizers.
