Editor’s Note: For anyone who’s had the opportunity to hear and see Dr. Tyler Ley speak about concrete pavements, it’s easy to see why the Oklahoma State University professor (and 2017 recipient of the Marlin J. Knutson Award for Technical Achievement) has a well-deserved reputation for being passionate about concrete pavements.

Click here to check out the YouTube channel he created to teach people about concrete.  He starts with the basics of concrete, then goes on to explain more technical topics, including testing, mixture design, cement manufacturing, admixtures, and durability.

For seasoned professionals, newcomers to the field, students, and others who share a strong interest in concrete pavements, the full video series is worth watching.  Although many of the videos include some amusing examples (and some are downright funny!), there’s no mistaking how serious Dr. Ley is in his quest for consistent concrete mixtures and his efforts to improve the quality of concrete pavements.
