Yesterday, the Biden Administration released its Permitting Action Plan for major projects under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) to “accelerate and deliver infrastructure projects on time, on task, and on budget.” The seven-page plan was built on five key elements that will “help ensure the timely and effective delivery of crucial upgrades to America’s infrastructure.” The five elements include: accelerating smart permitting through early cross-agency coordination; establishing clear timeline goals and tracking key project information;  engaging in early and meaningful outreach with states, tribal nations, territories, and local communities; improving agency responsiveness, technical assistance, and support: and using agency resources and environmental reviews to improve impact. The Administration intends for this permitting action plan to get programs off the ground faster. You can read the full plan here and the fact sheet here.
