In spite of ongoing tallies in the Presidential contest, things were less tumultuous with the Senate and House races, or at least those that most directly impact our industry.

Here is a look at how elected officials that serve in leadership or other influential positions on committees of jurisdiction relevant to transportation construction fared during the elections yesterday. Our sources for these data are the Associated Press and Ballotpedia and reflect reports from early today. Our notation of NR means the official did not run for re-election this year; the number following that designation is the year their current term expires.

With the balance of power likely maintained in both the House and Senate, Committee Chairs and Ranking Members appear to be stable, although there is always a chance committee assignments may change with the 117th Congress.

As for the next President, ACPA waits for final results with the rest of the nation. We expect any challenges to be resolved before December 14, the day the state electors comprising the Electoral College meet and vote.
