ACPA Supports Key Transportation Advocates in Final Days Before Election
In the week prior to the elections, ACPA responded to appeals for support from key lawmakers responsible for public policy and appropriations decisions.
Leif Wathne participated in virtual events in honor of House Transportation & Infrastructure (T&I) Committee Chair Peter DeFazio, Democratic National Committee Chair Cheri Bustos, and Ranking Member Sam Graves. Bill Davenport, as ACPA PAC Treasurer, sent disbursements to the elected officials listed below. They are listed in alphabetical order, along with details about their Congressional districts, committee assignments and key caucus memberships. According to the Associated Press, each of the candidates won re-election by significant margins yesterday.
Pete Aguilar (D-CA-31)—Chief Deputy Whip, House Democratic Caucus, Whip of the New Democrat Coalition, Vice Chair of the House Appropriations Comm (and Subcommittees on Defense; Transportation, and others).
Cheri Bustos (D-IL-17)—Democratic National Committee Chair and Member of the House Appropriations Committee (Subcommittee on Military Construction and Veterans Affairs).
Rodney Davis (R-IL-13)—Member of the House T&I Committee, including Ranking Member for the Subcommittee on Highways and Transit. He also serves on the Subcommittee on Railroads, Pipelines, and Hazardous Materials and is the Ranking Member of the Committee on House Administration.
Peter DeFazio (D-OR-04)—Chairman of the House Committee on Transportation & Infrastructure (T&I) and more than 100 caucuses.
Mike Gallagher (R-WI-08)—Member of the House T&I Committee.
Sam Graves (R-MO-6)—Ranking Member – House T&I Committee.
Pete Stauber (R-MN-08)—Member of the House T&I; Subcommittee on Highways and Transit; Subcommittee on Railroads, Pipelines, and Hazardous Materials; Subcommittee on Aviation; and the Steel Caucus.
