The International Society of Concrete Pavements (ISCP) last week announced it will proceed with the 12th International Conference on Concrete Pavements (ISCP), although with a contingency plan in mind. The conference is scheduled for August 30 through September 3.
In a letter posted to the ISCP website, ISCP President and 12th ICCP Conference Chair Jake Hiller says:
The ‘early bird’ registration is extended to June 1st (from April 17th);
ISCP will fully refund registrations if attendees choose to cancel before August 1, 2020; and
If the conference must be postponed because of the pandemic, all registrations will be honored for the new dates.
Jake adds that discussions with ISCP members and the hotel currently preclude exercising the force majeure clause of the contract, adding that canceling would cost ISCP $100,000 in hotel costs alone.
Looking ahead optimistically, ISCP moves ahead with the plan and invites early registrations. ISCP will continue to monitor the situation, factoring Centers for Disease Control guidance. Should the situation change, ISCP will notify registrants and post information on its website. ACPA will also provide updates to members and other readers of ACPA TODAY.
