Bob Steffes to Retire
The CP Tech Center reports that Robert (Bob) Steffes will retire as Manager of the Portland Cement Concrete Research Lab (PCC Lab) at the end of July. During the past 15 years, he has guided ISU students and faculty through thousands of concrete tests, exams, and procedures at the PCC Lab. Steffes was an integral player in many concrete projects involving the CP Tech Center.
During his years in the PCC Lab, research activities have increased approximately ten-fold, ICPA reports. Bob said he’ll remember most, “The satisfaction from teaching and helping students in research operations and seeing them move forward with some of my mentoring. The many invitations I received from students I worked with, to attend their research defense presentations, for graduation. The challenging demands to be creative, and design and build unique equipment for multiple, unique research needs.”
Following retirement, he said he plans a move to Olathe, KS, to spend time with kids and grandkids.
ACPA joins with the CP Tech Center staff thanks Bob for his years of stellar service to the transportation community. For contact information, as well as other information about Bob, click here.
