With the July 4th holiday in the books, summer is in full swing and construction season is well underway. I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful, long weekend celebrating the birth of American independence and all things that make this country great. As we honor the spirit of America this Independence Day week, I’m especially proud to serve an industry whose product is made locally and supports communities not only through jobs but also with the most resilient, durable, and long-lasting infrastructure solution available. Locally sourced and produced, concrete pavements are a hometown hero for all who are part of the industry as well as those who travel its surfaces.

While summer is upon us, ACPA isn’t slowing down. We’re continuing the momentum and implementation of our newly adopted Strategic Plan and welcoming the return of our Airport Workshop in August. Be sure to visit the Airport Workshop page and register today. A special thank you to our Top Gun level sponsors Wirtgen and Carbon Cure for your support of this year’s event. (Please email Anna McMullen for sponsorship opportunities.)

In other areas of activity this summer, we’re excited to announce the FAA has issued new LCCA discount rate guidance for airfield pavement analyses – you can read more about the change below. We’d also like to welcome Tim Martin to the ACPA team. Tim will begin consulting for ACPA on July 15th and assume the role of Senior Vice President of Engineering. His bio can be found here.

This week’s newsletter is jam-packed with exciting announcements, including a look at the upcoming Tech Tuesday webinar, three new leadership roles filled within the federation, a special workshop for NYSDOT on overlays, an event hosted by MnROAD, and ACPA’s participation in TRB Mid-Year Meetings.
