In The Mix: A Message from President & CEO Laura O’Neill Kaumo

ACPA’s Mid-Year Meeting in Austin, TX with record attendance, strong technical content, informative market information, and lively networking opportunities was a tremendous success. Thank you to all who attended, if you have not already, please share your feedback by completing this survey. For those who did not attend, we will see you at ACPA’s Annual Meeting in Marco Island, FL December 12- 14. Since its ACPA’s 60th Anniversary, we expect this event to break attendance records, much like our Mid-Year Meeting.
One of the things that is truly special about ACPA’s Annual Meeting is our Awards Program. Every year, ACPA celebrates the best in concrete paving. With 17 categories for award winning projects, contractors, cement suppliers, equipment and materials suppliers, and industry experts all come out to shine. ACPA’s Award’s Portal is now open. Submit your projects for consideration today! There is no better conversation piece or advertisement of your concrete paving craftsmanship than a peer-reviewed, industry supported, honor that notes your exemplary work. Post-awards, ACPA announces project winners in trade magazines, media outlets, and social media. We even create press kits to help reach that next owner as well as give all award winners a customized video for their promotion efforts. In addition to celebrating your work, you receive the coveted ACPA award winner flag so you may fly that flag high above your project with pride. ACPA members and non-members may submit their projects for consideration here.
Last week, I had the pleasure of traveling to Nebraska with CRH Group and meeting with a number of contractors and suppliers in the great state. Thank you to Bruce Grupe of the Nebraska Concrete Paving Association, NEBCO, Constructors, Inc., Hawkins Construction, and TAB Construction for the hospitality!
I also had a chance to travel to Arizona with Corey Zollinger of Cemex to discuss applications for roads and streets including applying Roller Compacted Concrete (RCC). RCC paving is a plausible, cost effective, and long-life solution.
Have a wonderful July 4th. Take time to rest, honor our great nation, and celebrate with family and friends. Be safe!
Cheers!
