Last week ACPA participated and presented in several sessions at the Promoters’ Forum in Nashville, Tennessee. The main focus of the forum was to share ideas and concepts that would help the concrete industry move forward with sustainability messaging. We will be elevating our activity related to the sustainability of concrete, particularly after the IIJA is enacted. Being at the forefront of sustainability in paving will pay dividends as new projects and priorities emerge.

ACPA Members Lori Tiefenthaler shared some insights from the Women In Concrete Alliance (WICA), Heather Steffek (NY) presented insights on moving forward with PLCs, and John Leckie (IN) shared insights on replacing lime with cement in soil stabilization.

Additionally, they all served as small group leaders in the Communicating Sustainability in Concrete Pavements Workshop led by ACPA’s Scott Mueller. Additional small group leaders included Brett Ruffing (KY), Kevin McMullen and Jackie Spoor (WI), Heather Smith (MI), Pat Long (IN), and Art Thompson (ND).

ACPA serves as the communication conduit to the paving community.
