Training Event Focuses on Pavement Preservation
Eric Ferrebee, ACPA Technical Service Director, and Steve Tritsch, Associate Director of the CP Tech Center, represented the concrete pavement industry at the Pavement Preservation Summit in Puerto Rico this week. Sponsored by the FHWA, the program began with remarks by officials from the FHWA, as well as local agency and industry officials.
The first day of the two-day event included concrete and asphalt tracks. Eric and Steve participated as presenters in three concrete-related tracks, with Eric covering diamond grinding and grooving; load-transfer restoration and cross stitching; and partial-depth concrete pavement repairs. Steve covered joint resealing and crack sealing; full-depth concrete pavement repairs; and slab replacement. The summit, held at the College of Engineers and Surveyors of Puerto Rico in Hato Rey, also included other presentations on pavement preservation, specifications and quality assurance.
