ACPA served as a partner for Greenroads International’s 10th Annual Earth Day Meeting & Awards Presentation.

Held last Thursday, the event featured remarks by Rep. Marilyn Strickland (D-WA-10); Roger Millar, Washington State Secretary of Transportation; and Rebekah Pokura-Ward, Principal Environmental & Social Specialist at Waka Kotahi, the New Zealand Transport Agency.

The keynote presentation was delivered by Stephanie Pollack, Acting Administrator, Federal Highway Administration. In her remarks, she highlighted the Administration’s proclamation on Earth Day 2021. She also reviewed the Administration’s commitment to electric vehicle goals, and presented an overview of the American Jobs Plan, of which $620 billion is on top of the Fast Act funding levels. She emphasized that fixing right is not just fixing first, as well as the imperative to reconnect neighborhoods and social inequities of past policies.

The Greenroads® Rating System is an easy way to measure and manage sustainability on transportation projects. The rating system is the core publication used in the Greenroads Project Rating Program, which challenges Project Teams to go above and beyond minimum environmental, social, and economic performance measures and evaluates projects through independent, expert, third-party review.

The rating system and all Greenroads programs are administered by Greenroads International, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
