In The Mix: A Message from President & CEO Laura O’Neill Kaumo
This week we were all reminded of the fury of mother nature as Hurricane Ida slammed the Gulf Coast. As we begin to see the true impact of the storm, my thoughts are with our members, their families, their communities, and our fellow Americans who are now facing the aftermath of its destruction. For those of you who were in the storm’s path, I hope you were able to stay safe. Please let me know if there is anything ACPA can do to support you in the recovery.
As we prepare to celebrate Labor Day, the unofficial end of summer, Americans will be getting out on the road. Arrivalist predicts nearly 43 million Americans will be taking road trips this holiday weekend, many relying on safe and smooth concrete streets and highways to make the journey. A pat on the back to all of you for helping to make that happen. It’s always important to remember the role our members play in facilitating their mobility. The roads we pave and the projects we support strengthen the infrastructure of this country and allow us all the freedom to easily travel from city to city and state to state. Sometimes we all take that for granted.
Finally, thanks to those of you who have already completed the Member Satisfaction Survey that was shared last week. For those of you who may have missed it, you can access the survey using this link. We value your feedback and want your opinion as we begin our planning for 2022 and beyond. Our strength as an association is derived from serving and meeting the needs of our membership. It’s important for me and the rest of the ACPA staff to have clear direction on how we can continue to leverage our strength and provide value in the association.
