It was another busy week for ACPA with stops in Arizona for the ACEC Roads and Streets Conference, continued planning for the ACPA Annual Meeting (now less than two months away), and a variety of activities by ACPA staff around the country. I had the pleasure of joining several of our team members and sitting in on some of the sessions at the ACEC Arizona Conference. It was an impressive event with more than 1400 transportation-related attendees. You can read more about it below.

Meanwhile, in Washington, Congress continues to navigate the politics of the Infrastructure, Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA). While they have agreed to extending FHWA authorization through the end of October, funding the government through December 3rd, and raising the debt ceiling through mid-December, the White House and Congressional Democrats continue to work on the reconciliation bill for President Biden’s Build Back Better agenda and hope to pass the IIJA when the House returns later this month – fingers crossed.

As I mentioned, the program for the Annual Meeting in Huntington Beach is now complete! I’m excited about the topics and am very much looking forward to my first ACPA Annual Meeting. From Market Forums to guest presenters to the unveiling of the gold and silver winning projects in the Excellence In Paving Awards, I know the week will be filled with the best our industry has to offer. We are full steam ahead and look forward to seeing you there! For all the latest updates, I encourage you to follow ACPA on LinkedInTwitter, and Facebook. You can view the program, register for the Annual Meeting, and book your hotel by clicking here. Reserve your spot soon before they sell out!

Thanks to everyone who participated in this month’s Tech Tuesday Webinar. I hope you found the discussion informative; The durability of our product stands out as one of its best features – one we will continue to promote.

And finally, make sure to check out stories in this week’s newsletter celebrating the 20th anniversary of modern precast concrete technology and a recap of the Roadway Management meeting with Delaware DOT. I hope you enjoy reading all of the updates in this week’s newsletter. Feel free to email ACPA staff and share any ideas you may have for future newsletter content.
